Daddy's Little Girl

So after a somewhat 'blah' week last week - it wasn't bad in any way but it wasnt fab either, know what I mean? - I decided to pop into MAC and treat myself to a new beauty item. Lo and behold, my local MAC still had some bits from the Archie's Girls Collection in stock and a few short minutes later, I was the proud owner of Daddy's Little Girl from the Veronica collection.

I wouldn't say I'm one to be sucked in by a limited edition collection so the fact that this is part of the collection wasn't behind the reason I got this, but look how cute the packaging is!

The actual colour is what hooked me - its a bright pink with a deep purple tone - absolutely gorgeous, and so striking, but also surprisingly wearable!

Rihanna for MAC

So unless you have been living under a rock/haven't browsed Twitter today, you will have heard the news that Bajan beauty Rihanna is now a "creative partner" of and will be releasing multiple collections with MAC.

 

Now, I am a huge Rihanna fan, as well as a massive MAC fan so you could say I was a bit excited when I read this news. My first thought was along the lines of 'we can definitely expect a few red lippies in this collection!' so I wasn't at all surprised to hear about what they are calling 'RiRi Woo'.

 

Not sure how I feel about that.

I'm kinda loving the rose gold, red signatured packaging but I know a lot of people aren't feeling it. We'll have to see when it is released to us later this year...

For me, the (somewhat over used!) expression 'New Year, New Start' was true this year as I started a new job, following over a year of temping, volunteering and working freelance. Because of this, it has been a while since I indulged in new clothes and make up 'just because', besides a few cheeky purchases and pick-me-ups along the way to make the struggle a little more glam. These are the gems that have really caught my eye and I might just treat myself to come pay day!

 

 

Dear Santa...

I happen to think I have been very nice this year (maybe a little bit naughty....) so I think receiving any of these gems from Santa would be very lovely indeed!

Motel Rocks challenged us Street Team members to create a wishlist of what we would like for Christmas, and here's mine! It is made up of items I would really like (a new Tom Ford Black Orchid perfume as I somehow lost mine, a cupcake stand, this ASOS Studded Shopper bag, the Motel Rocks Delorious dress and some MAC and OPI goodies) and some unrealistic Wishlist items (this Marc by Marc Jacobs gold watch and a pomeranian puppy!) but hey, a girl can dream!

Dear Santa... Motel Rocks Street Team Challenge by oliviawilkins-smith

Eggplant

I am a big fan of rapper Azealia Banks, singer of the super catchy 212 which was a massive hit this summer, so I was very excited to hear she was releasing her own lipstick with MAC, called Yung Rapunxel.

Azealia herself describes the shade as 'eggplant', while MAC call it a deep, rich shade of plum.

Unfortunately as far as I'm aware it is not being released in the UK which is such a shame as I would totally buy it!

However I was rifling through my make up drawer today and found this: Black Cherry by Sleek which I think is somewhat similar!

Unfortunately not... But I do love this shade, so until I hear of MAC releasing this fab lipstick in the UK I will be rocking this on nights this Autumn/Winter. Was anyone lucky enough to see her on tour this month, or attend the fabulous Mermaid Ball?
